TL;DR: Village supports self-determination programs (Regional Center) and FMS accounts through service credit accounts β set up one per FMS, use it as a payment method, and track deposits to mark invoices paid.
Overview
Some clients pay through third-party fund sources like self-determination programs (Regional Center). Village supports these payment methods through service accounts.
What is FMS?
FMS (Financial or Fiscal Management Service) is the entity that manages a client's funds in self-determination or similar programs. Instead of paying directly by card or insurance, clients use their FMS account.
How to set up FMS billing
In your organization settings, create a Service Credit Account for each FMS you work with.
Each FMS gets its own service credit account in Village.
The service account becomes available as a payment method for clients.
How FMS billing works
When billing a session, select the FMS service credit account as the payment source.
Generate invoices against the service credit account.
When you receive deposits from the FMS, mark those deposits in the service credit account.
This updates the account balance and allows you to mark invoices as paid.
